Hi!  I'm Mrs. Gardner.  Welcome to our blog.  Here I will post updates, calendar items, and general classroom information.  I will also try to include some tips for things you can do at home to help your student.


The first thing I wanted to share with you was information about spelling sorts.  Your student will begin bringing home spelling sorts next week.  When your student brings home a sort, we have already reviewed the sort at school and it should be familiar to him/her.  The sort includes words that are part of their spelling list and words that they will be tested on at the end of the week.  Sorting the words into categories helps the students learn the spelling rules for those words.  Please have your child sort their words at least once during the week before Friday.  This will help them remember which words follow which rules.
